Video Editing

Editing around the viewer

An interview rarely arrives in a perfect thirty-second answer. We find the useful thread, support it with the right images and cut what gets in its way. Music, sound and graphics all have a part to play, but the story comes first.

We edit Creative Edge productions and footage supplied by clients. Before work starts, we check the media, the intended audience and the formats you need. That keeps review focused and avoids finishing a film only to discover that the most important version is missing.

More ways to use your footage

Start with the purpose of the edit, then decide how much material and which versions it needs.

Commercial and campaign edits

Build the offer quickly, keep the strongest evidence and give the viewer a clear next step. We can create alternate openings and lengths without losing the central message.

Where it worksPaid social, streaming ads and campaign pages.

Interview-led company stories

Find the useful thread across long conversations. Supporting footage, pacing and careful audio edits make an explanation feel clear without making a real person sound scripted.

Where it worksBrand films, customer stories and recruitment.

Product and training videos

An instructional edit needs the right order and enough time to see the action. Labels, close-ups and chapter breaks can make a procedure easier to follow and revisit.

Where it worksProduct support, onboarding and internal learning.

Podcasts and multicamera recordings

Several cameras need a consistent visual rhythm and intelligible sound. We can work from a planned recording or review supplied media to establish synchronization, graphics and episode delivery.

Where it worksFull episodes, interview series and event sessions.

Short-form and vertical versions

A smaller frame changes what the viewer can see. We rebuild the opening, framing and text where necessary, rather than assuming a wide edit will work unchanged on a phone.

Where it worksReels, Shorts, recruitment and social campaigns.

Existing-footage refreshes

An older film may contain useful material even when its message has changed. We review rights, image quality and missing coverage before recommending a recut, a small pickup shoot or a new production.

THE THINKING BEHIND THE WORK

Our approach

The best footage is not always the best opening

The opening has a job: give this viewer a reason to continue. That might be an honest customer observation, a clear product demonstration or a question the audience already has. We look at the whole sequence, not only the most beautiful individual shots. The same footage can become a practical sales tool or a broader brand film, but the structure and pacing will be different.

Tools with a purpose

What supports a reliable edit

Media organization and a clear finishing plan protect the story from avoidable technical problems.

Explore our equipment

Organized media and proxy workflows

A reliable edit starts with organized footage, audio and versions. High-resolution originals can use lightweight working media when appropriate, with a checked path back to the source for the finish.

Multicamera and audio synchronization

Timecode, recorded reference sound and a clear camera plan help align the material. We check synchronization and channel assignments before building the edit, especially for long recordings.

Graphics and finishing handoffs

Titles, animation and color can be developed alongside the edit. We agree on interchange formats, handles and source requirements when another editor, animator or colorist is involved.

Versions, captions and quality checks

We prepare the agreed aspect ratios, codecs and caption files, then check picture, sound, spelling, end cards and safe areas. Delivery requirements are established before exporting a long list of versions.

Working with Creative Edge

Bring the editorial decisions to one team

The work combines story judgment with the ability to capture missing material and finish the piece.

01

Story judgment, not just assembly

We can help decide what the piece should say and what can be removed. You get an editor who considers the audience, not simply someone following a sequence of file names.

02

A way to fill the gaps

Our production, studio and graphics capabilities give us options when the existing footage is missing an essential explanation or shot.

03

A shared review process

We establish decision makers and consolidated feedback. That gives your team a manageable way to make choices and keeps competing versions from becoming the project.

From discovery to delivery

From supplied footage to finished versions

Explore each stage to see what happens, where your team is involved and which decisions keep the work moving.

We inspect sample files, reference edits, audience and delivery requirements. Missing sound, source limitations and rights questions are addressed before the main edit begins.

We synchronize recordings, review interviews and establish a structure. A rough cut lets everyone judge the message before the finishing details distract from it.

Your team collects time-specific feedback. We work through content and pacing decisions first, then refine the transitions and supporting elements.

Approved structure moves into color, graphics, captions and sound work. We confirm which decisions are locked before preparing the final versions.

We review the agreed deliverables and provide them in the required formats. Any project-file or archive handoff is part of the scope we agree at the start.

Video editing questions

Ask our team
Can you edit footage we already have?

Yes. Send us a sample and tell us what you want the footage to do. We will check quality, permissions, sound and any gaps before recommending an approach.

How should we give feedback?

Choose one person to collect feedback and use specific time references. We establish review rounds and decision makers up front so the edit can keep moving.

Can one video become several deliverables?

Often. Planning for different lengths, crops and calls to action early gives us better options than simply cutting down a finished master.

Should we send camera originals or exported clips?

Camera originals and original audio usually give us the most flexibility. Share a sample first. We can recommend a transfer and project structure after reviewing your recording format and media volume.

Can you remove background noise from an interview?

Some problems can be improved, but noise reduction cannot reliably recreate missing words or fix every recording. We assess a sample and explain the limits before promising a usable result.

Can you match another editor’s project?

We first confirm the software, media, plugins, fonts and licenses involved. An interchange or flattened master can be an option, but not every project transfers perfectly between systems.

Do you include captions and vertical exports?

They can be included. We specify caption style, languages, aspect ratios and lengths in the deliverable list. That prevents a single finished edit from turning into an undefined number of extra versions.

Can we work together remotely?

Yes. Editing reviews and file handoffs can be handled remotely. Our team is based in Green Bay, and we agree on the transfer, feedback and approval process before work starts.
