Getting Started With Your Production

Thanks for your interest in Creative Edge Productions!

Video production is a great medium to reach your audience and we are excited to work with you.  Before we get started, here are a few things to know about our productions.

Rates

Please Contact Us for our current rate sheet.  We also offer free custom quotes depending on the specific needs of your production.

Time

We offer hourly rates, as well as discounts for half day and full day shoots.  This includes setting up equipment i.e. lighting, sound, stabilization, etc. (if applicable).  This does not include travel time.

Travel

All productions include travel up to 50 miles each way.  Additional travel is billed at $.50 per mile.

Cameras

We offer different packages depending on your production.  We capture footage on our Canon XH-A1 and Canon 5D Mark II cameras.  The XH-A1 uses standard miniDV cassettes and captures in the HDV format.  The Canon 5D Mark II uses MPEG-4 encoding.  We use both cameras because the A1 can shoot continuously and takes minimal setup time and the 5D can capture what we call the “Film Look” creating a higher quality image.

Frame rate

We ask that you let us know if you need your footage captured in 60i, 30p, or 24p.  If you are unsure, we can work with you to determine the best option for you.

Delivery

If you do not need us to edit the captured footage for you, we are happy to shoot and deliver all footage captured.  All HD footage is processed through Cineform NEO Scene to deliver the best possible image for our customers.  NEO Scene converts HDV and MPEG-4 8bit footage to high-res 10bit and interpolates the 4:2:0 chroma resolution to full 4:2:2.  NEO Scene also creates smaller file sizes that are easier for most computers to edit, while still maintaining full 1920×1080 HD resolution.  We can either deliver AVI or MOV files depending on your editor.  HDV tapes are delivered to the customer upon request.

Lighting

We use a 7 piece, 2500w lighting kit that can easily be setup at any location.  We determine which lights are necessary, often times we only utilize 2 to 3 lights at a time.  For mobile use, we have an on-camera LED light for darker locations.

Sound

We capture sound both through our on-camera shotgun mic and lavaliere mic (when applicable).

Stabilization

Handheld and tripod shots are included with every production.  We also offer jib and slider shots.  See our rate sheet for more information.

Photography

If you need any photography captured during a video shoot, we offer discounted rates.

Post Production

We offer in-house editing, DVD authoring, and still and motion graphic designs for your production.  See our rate sheet for more information.

Payment

50% or $1000 (whichever is less) is due on or before the first day of shooting.  The remainder is due upon delivery of end product.
